If we put some request, intially either doget() or dopost() is getting invoked? why not any servlet life cycle method is not getting invoked?Then why don't we include this doget() and dopost() in the servlet life cycle methods?

There is so many reason why we are using connection pooling rather than database beacuse if we need more connection then container can create more connection and if connections are not in use then container can destroy the conncection. Mainly we are taking connection to connect the database..

Servlets Life cycle methods:init(),service(),destroy(). If I can use those methods in any Servlet web application programming it is internally servlet container treated as _jspservice() and this method generating code on Java with normal basic code.

Ya definitely you can call destroy() from init , but in that case it will be called as any other method it will execute the code in destroy() and will come back to init().The destroy() method is called by server when the servlet is about to get unloaded.Dhruv
