Compaction for base shall be done using core cutter method. Sand replacement method and other field density method can be used for sub base. The new method used for testing compaction in Nuclear Gauge Method

Turbulent flow is a type of flow which is not uniform.  There are some losses in this flow when renolds number > 4000 then the flow is turbolent. It increases boundary layer thickness.

rcc bear the both compressive & tensile load but cc bear only compressive load.
rcc mostly used in heavy construction but cc not used in heavy construction.

7th and 28th days tests are usually carried out for cc cubes for analyzing if they get enough strength as required characteristic compressive strength. (7 days- around 20 mpa...and 28 days- around 32 mpa)

We are trying to achieve M30 grade concrete manually at our site. We have customized the mixture machine and have bins with load cells to tell us the weights of coarse sand, cement and 0.75 and 0.50 inch Gitti. At present we are using (1:1.80:3.5) (50kg cement : 90 kg coarse sand : 175 kg Gitti) with 28 liters water and 250 ml add mix per 50 kg cement. 7 day testing of the cubes have given 15.01 MPA...
